We’re Hiring for the 2023 Season!
This year we have 3 exciting positions available!!
We are currently hiring a Market Assistant, a Farm Hand and a Program Assistant. These three seasonal roles are crucial to the important work that EGP does on the North Shore and beyond. We are looking for folks that are passionate about farming, food systems, environmental education and community, who believe in working for an organization that is aligned with their values, and who love working in a team to achieve goals and have fun.
Please note all of these positions are dependent on grant funding.
The Market Assistant will coordinate and manage the Loutet Farm Gate Sales and Loutet Community Farm Markets. They will liaise with the vendors that attend our markets and will actively recruit and network with new vendors. Through this work, they will build the capacity of our markets to foster community and increase awareness of local, sustainable agriculture. They will also be a key part of our Harvest Team, which is responsible for harvesting and processing vegetables twice per week for the markets. The Market Coordinator will work closely with the Farm Coordinator to coordinate the harvest teams at the two farm sites. Read the full Market Assistant posting here.
The Farm Hand will work closely with the Farm Coordinator to support the on-going farm operations and they will be a key part of our Harvest Team, which is responsible for harvesting and processing vegetables twice per week for the markets. The Farm Hand will support the Market Coordinator to manage twice-weekly farm markets. They will also help to supervise farm volunteers, with support and guidance from the Farm Coordinator. Read the full Farm Hand posting here.
The Program Assistant will work to support both the Farm & Education program, depending on need, skills, and interest. They will work closely with the Farm Coordinator to support the on-going farm operations at our urban farm site and the Education Coordinator to deliver the EGP’s education programs for children and youth. If you have more skills and experience in one area or the other but are eager to learn, we would love to hear from you! Read the full Program Assistant posting here.
