We are currently hiring a Farm Coordinator and Education Coordinator. These two roles are part of the dynamic, hard-working team that is the Edible Garden Project, and both these roles are crucial to the important work that EGP does on the North Shore and beyond. We are looking for folks that are passionate about farming, food systems and community, who believe in working for an organization that is aligned with their values, and who love working in a team to achieve goals and have fun.
Farm Coordinator
The Farm Coordinator will be responsible for all farm operations and will work collaboratively with the Program Manager to provide support to the Sharing Gardens program. The Farm Coordinator will strive for increased efficiency of farm operations and will work towards increased revenue from Loutet Farm and the Sutherland Schoolyard Market Garden. The Farm Coordinator will maintain all farm sites to serve as models of local sustainable food production and the Farm Coordinator will provide hands-on learning opportunities to the community. The Farm Coordinator reports to the EGP Program Manager and will work collaboratively with the Program Manager to manage the Market Coordinator and Farm Assistant. The Farm Coordinator will manage Farm Interns, and Farm Volunteers. The Farmer will work to develop, coordinate, supervise and promote farm activities. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about food security, food justice and environmental sustainability initiatives. This position is full time (40 hours/week), at $23/hour. Education Coordinator
The Education Coordinator is responsible for the EGP’s education programs, with an emphasis on children and youth. The role includes program planning, development, and implementation. The candidate will seek new learning opportunities while creating and modifying programs and activities to meet the ever-changing needs of individual learners, the community, and the program vision. As a key external representative of the NSNH/EGP, the Education Coordinator will utilize excellent judgement to develop credible and meaningful relationships with businesses, schools, daycares, pre-schools and the community. The Education Coordinator will work closely with the EGP Program Manager to identify opportunities and resolve concerns. The responsibilities will be done while ensuring consistency with the mission and vision of the North Shore Neighbourhood House. This position is part time (20 hours/week), at $23/hour.
