If you have already been dreaming about your vegetable patch, than you will enjoy this hands-on workshop designed to give you the skills and confidence to plant your first (or nearly first) veggie garden. It can seem intimidating and complex when you are starting out, but Emily Neufeld will seamlessly guide you through getting your garden off to a great start this season.

In this hands-on outdoor workshop you will learn how to get veggie garden planted and ready for an abundant season. Topics include: soil health and preparation, choosing your crops, timing your planting, companion planting, watering, and harvesting.

Emily Neufeld is an artist who combines her love of conception, craft, interesting spaces, food security, authentic community, cooking, environmentalism, social justice and hard work by creating and managing community garden spaces. She also loves nothing better than a cold drink outside after a long day in the dirt.

Participant Instructions:This is an outdoor hands-on workshop, please come dressed for the weather. If you have gardening gloves or hand tools they may be useful to bring along (some will also be available to borrow).
