Well, this is my last blog post of the summer. The past two months have been an amazing experience for me; all the staff and volunteers at the EGP made me feel so welcome and I’m sad to be leaving so soon. I could stay forever!
I have had the privilege of learning how to grow food and about the inner workings of a non-profit organization in an experiential way. Not to mention the slow and steady progression towards my understanding of what a healthy community and a truly local food system would look like. Working with the EGP has provided me with new insights and perspectives that I could not have received in a classroom setting.
Some of my favourite memories from the summer are: hanging out at the Saturday farm gate sales, serving at Farm to Feast, watching the new Whitchurch garden explode with produce, and harvesting hops from Booth (just to name a few!).
I’ve added some of my favourite pictures too.
Hopefully I’ll be back next summer to make more memories with the EGP.
Bye for now,
– Kasha
