On January 20th, the District of North Vancouver passed the North Shore Food Charter. The charter is on the agenda for City of North Vancouver council on February 24th, 6-9pm.
The food charter is a key policy tool for advancing food security. When a municipal food charter is endorsed by local governments, municipal staff will then have a mandate to support communities in working towards food security.
Please come out in support of the Charter on the 24th. Residents of the City of North Vancouver are able to speak before council on any topic during the 2min public input period that begins at 6pm on Council Nights. The sign up sheet is usually available at 5:30pm. Additionally, anyone is welcome to attend Council meetings and show their support for the Charter by simply being present.
