Becka grew up spending her childhood in the bush, beaches, and volcanic hills of Aotearoa/New Zealand, on land long stewarded by Ngā iwi o Tāmaki, Waikato, and Ngāti Kahungunu peoples. She is passionate about fostering experiential learning that helps people connect to their place as part of the natural world, and the responsibility that brings. She believes in the power of access to good food, community care, relationship to plants, and the empowerment that comes when we feel a sense of autonomy over the systems we live within. In her spare time you might find her exploring wetlands, tending to her rooftop garden, or very slowly learning Gaeilge (the Irish language).
