The Table Matters Working Group on increasing residential food production is launching Building Urban Garden (BUG) Blitzes – a new initiative that enables neighbours to help each other build new food gardens. Check out the first BUGBlitz!
You are invited to join us on Wednesday July 6th (5:30pm-7:30pm) for our first official Building Urban Gardens Blitz!
We will be building two raised garden beds, creating a boulevard bee garden (some sheet mulching), and we will get a chance to check out our host’s new top bar bee hives. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a how to build garden boxes, and what types of plants are best of beneficial pollinators (and bees in particular)!
You do not need any experience or tools, but if you have either we would love you to bring them along (shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and hand spades)! Feel free to bring a friend or neighbour too!
This BUGBlitz will happen near Lonsdale and 23rd St, and we will send you the exact location when you email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
