We are now accepting applications for Farm Interns for the 2020 season!!
If you’ve ever been interested in farming, plants, and local food, this is the place to start. We’re looking for folks to join us for the entire farming season, and gain an understanding of what it means to be an urban farmer. You’ll leave this program with theoretical plant knowledge, tangible hands-on skills, and a community of people that love growing food as much as you do!
What makes our program different:
- involvement in all aspects of farm: seeding, transplanting, greenhouse, harvest, market
- flexible hours – work with our farm team to create a schedule that works for you
- tons of learning opportunities (that you don’t have to pay for)
- access to farm fresh produce
- independent and team working environments

Quotes from past interns:
“This summer was a really critical summer for me personally and definitively the most fun! I was so grateful to be outside, connecting with the earth and my community in a meaningful way. I learned a ton about farming, which I plan to incorporate into my career one day. This experience further solidified my interest in becoming a farmer and has encouraged me to continue on that path. It has taught me the foundations I need to taking the next steps and taught me that I am capable and really love this work.” – Jacqueline Craig, 2019 intern
“I really enjoyed helping out with the summer camp since I will be working with children in the future. I liked seeing what the farm would have set up for the groups visiting the farm. It has really inspired me to be involved in more farming/gardening in the future.” – Jacqueline Boudreau, 2019 intern
“Throughout [the internship], I felt the skills I came with were utilized and respected and I emerged with innumerable new skills and the confidence to use them. Haydn shared his immense knowledge and experience freely while being open to new ideas, discussion, and dumb questions. The culture at Loutet is one that respects the soil, the plants, the people who grow food, and the people who consume food. It welcomes all members of the community and truly embraces the Edible Garden Project philosophy of Grow, Share, Teach.” – Paula Cruise, 2018 intern
