This Friday night, August 17th, at 6:00pm we’re going to be harvesting some of the barley and wheat from the Urban Grain Demonstration plot at the Queen Mary Community Garden.

Join us if you want to learn a little bit about these different grains (we’ve got nine different types growing), and have some fun learning to harvest and thresh them!

We’ll be using a bicycle powered threshing machine, and may have an expert join us to make some corn dollys.

If you have some excellent recipes using wheat berries, wheat flour, or barley please bring them to share! Bring a pair of garden clippers or secateurs if you have them.

Hope to see you there!
