Emily, Development?

In her new role as EGP’s Program Manager, Emily guides the efforts of EGP’s staff, fundraises and nurtures the partnerships that keep the EGP well-watered and growing. She comes to this role after four years as the EGP’s Community Coordinator. She grew up on the North Shore and after a few years away, is delighted to be back living and working in the community where she has deep roots.

For 2014, Emily is excited by the EGP’s public education work, and exposing new people to food security and urban agriculture through public projects like the Schoolyard Market Gardens.
“There’s a lot of potential to pique people’s curiosity and shift where their thought goes when they think about food security and urban agriculture.”

Hi Emily – I’m in Cultural Services with the North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission (NVRC), and the person that organizes the annual North Shore Culture Days celebrations that happen this Sept 25, 26, 27/15. Over the Culture Days weekend, North Vancouver community arts, culture and heritage groups open their doors to the public to offer free, hands-on activities. This year, events will take place in a 5 community activity hubs in popular North Van gathering places. NVRC Cultural Services coordinates a free promotional program for participating groups in partnership with the North Shore News. I wonder if Loutet Farm might be interested in organizing a Culture Days activity. Urban farming is a very creative pursuit:-) Check the NVRC Culture Days webpage for more information, or feel free to give me a call (604) 983-6467. http://www.artsoffice.ca/news/ns_cdays.php
