About this Event
Join Hives for Humanity (H4H) for an informative discussion of how seeds and pollinators are closely linked, and how we can better understand their role in vibrant, healthy communities. This presentation will also include a tasting of honey from local H4H hives (honey and candles will be available for sale).
About Hives for Humanity
Hives for Humanity (H4H) is a nonprofit society that creates opportunities for connection to community, through nature, bees and the culture of the hive. They foster self-worth and community pride through skills sharing and experiential learning, working with socially and economically vulnerable populations facing barriers to stability.
The Downtown Eastside Seed Library has been offering free flower, vegetable and herb seeds for six years through the Vancouver Public Library at the Carnegie Centre. We distribute around 2,500 seed packs to over 200 seed library users while offering resources and workshops on starting and saving seeds. The seeds are packaged and labelled by community members who find connection, joy and pride in their work towards environmental stewardship and advocacy.
**Note: this workshop will be taking place during Seedy Saturday! Plan to come early or stay after to swap seeds, check out community booths, etc**Share EGP!
